Paüls prepares for the 23rd edition of its magical Cherry Festival, to be held on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.
The small municipality in the Ports Natural Park expects thousands of visitors for this event.
Next weekend, June 6 and 7, 2026, the steep streets of Paüls (Tarragona) will once again be tinged with red and popular joy with a new edition of its traditional Cherry Festival. An event that, edition after edition, brings together residents, farmers, and tourists around the star product of the Baix Ebre region: Paüls' native cherry.
A unique fruit in a dreamlike landscape
It is not just any cherry. The variety cultivated on the dry stone terraces of Paüls, many of them located in hard-to-reach areas of the Ports Natural Park, offers an intense flavor, a crunchy texture, and a characteristic color that differentiate it from any other. The festival was born precisely to protect this agricultural treasure and prevent the depopulation of a town that today barely exceeds 500 registered inhabitants.
